Minister of Health says Turkey produces own diagnostic kits and sells to USA

Minister of Health Fahrettin Koca has delivered important messsages regarding coronavirus epidemic in the country. Koca said “We have developed our own diagnostic kit to provide reliable and fast results in the diagnosis of the disease”.

The domestic diagnostic kit, which has been used in our laboratory for 40 days, became popular in a short time and was sold to other countries in this way. In fact, we received an order for 500 thousand diagnostic kits from America and we delivered them.

As of today, 18 laboratories in different cities, seven of which are in Istanbul, are able to conduct tests for diagnosis. Soon we’ll be able to run tests in almost every major city. In addition, especially in the next day or two which we see as likely as tomorrow morning, the rapid diagnostic kit, will be used. I would like to announce here that we have made a plan such as by giving this diagnostic kit to all of our provinces which can yield results quickly through the antigen developed in China we’ll be able to confirm it in our reference laboratory when the result comes out positive.

Concerned kits will be delivered to the Cargo today as of tomorrow morning and arrive tomorrow (today).
