Minister Kacır Announces: Second Phase of Fast Charging Support for Electric Vehicles Begins

Turkish Minister of Industry and Technology Mehmet Fatih Kacır has announced the launch of the second phase of the Fast Charging Infrastructure Support Program for electric vehicles via a post on his social media account.

In his statement, Minister Kacır shared key developments about the program, highlighting that during the first call period, fast-charging stations were established in all 81 provinces of Turkey. He noted that electric vehicle owners can now travel across the country without interruption.

Kacır emphasized that the first phase of the program led to the installation of approximately 12,000 fast charging units and nearly 30,000 charging points throughout Turkey. With the newly announced second call period, the aim is to expand charging infrastructure to less densely populated areas as well.

“Electric Vehicle Usage Will Spread Nationwide”

Stating their goal is to encourage widespread use of electric vehicles across the country, Kacır said, “We will continue taking steps that will position Turkey among the pioneering countries in innovative technologies.”

The deadline for applications for the new call period is set for June 20, 2025. The support program seeks to encourage private sector investment, reduce Turkey’s carbon emissions, and promote environmentally friendly transportation.
