Minister Warns: Temperatures Will Rise Above Seasonal Norms

Temperatures are set to increase by 3 to 8 degrees. Minister Özhaseki has issued warnings for precautionary measures, stating, “In some provinces, temperatures are expected to reach 40 degrees and above.”

Minister of Environment, Urbanization, and Climate Change Mehmet Özhaseki announced that starting from today, temperatures across the country were expected to rise, with some provinces exceeding 40 degrees.

In his statement on social media, Minister Özhaseki highlighted that according to the Meteorological General Directorate’s weather forecast report, temperatures were expected to increase nationwide starting from today.

Özhaseki noted that temperatures were anticipated to be 3 to 8 degrees above seasonal norms and added:

“In some provinces, temperatures are expected to reach 40 degrees and above. In light of the Meteorological General Directorate’s data, I urge our elderly citizens and those with chronic illnesses to be cautious and take necessary precautions.”

Minister Özhaseki also called for awareness to prevent potential forest fires due to the rising temperatures, stating, “I expect our citizens to act responsibly to prevent any fires in our forests, which are the lungs of our country.”
