TURKEY_EXPORTIn spite of some problems between the two countries now and then Turkey and the USA have strong ties, both political and economic.

Talking about economic relations for instance , the Turkish exports to the U.S. has totaled about $3.3 billion, and U.S. exports to Turkey has totaled $8.6 billion.

The Turkish government certainly attributes great importance to its mutual trade with the USA.

Within this concept the Economy Minister Zafer Caglayan has announced that Turkey is to build a logistics center in Los Angeles to store Turkish goods and minimize the disadvantages of the huge distance between Turkey and the United States.

Caglayan said to the reporters during his trip to San Francisco on Sunday;

“The distance between our two countries is far and we face some disadvantages in sending goods from Turkey to the US. Thus, during my previous trip to the USA I asked the Turkish Exporters Assembly Pesident, Mehmet Buyueksi to hire a big warehouse at the Los Angeles Harbor to store the most exported Turkish goods to the US. This way I believe we will be able to sell them immediately, when needed”.

The minister added; “However, if TİM does not take the initiative to hire this storage space, we as the Ministry of Economy, will do it.”
