Ministry: Animals in the shelter in Konya will undergo health screening

The Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry has made a statement informing health screening and examination will be carried out to determine whether the animals have been subjected to mistreatment, at Konya Metropolitan Municipality Temporary Animal Hospice and Rehabilitation Center.

The torture and killing of animals at the Animal Rehabilitation Center affiliated to the Konya Metropolitan Municipality had led to strong reaction on social media (and in the country).
CRIMINAL COMPLAINT FILED ON INCIDENT

In a statement made by the Ministry, it was stated that the images reflected on social media of the incident in the center in question had been notified and a criminal complaint was immediately filed by the Konya Directorate of Agriculture and Forestry about the people who took part in the images on November 25.

FULL INSPECTION TO BE CARRIED OUT

The statement also said the unacceptable incident taken to the judiciary would be followed meticulously adding the necessary instructions were given by the Minister and full inspection was also started at said shelter.
