President Erdogan: We will never persecute animals, we will not mistreat them

President Erdogan reacted to the brutal killing of a dog at a shelter in Konya, as well. In his speech on the subject, Erdogan said the following:

REACTION TO THE ATROCITY AT THE SHELTER

Erdogan, who reacted harshly to the brutal murder of a dog in a shelter in Konya, said: “Unfortunately, we have sadly followed the images caused by 2 unscrupulous people working, in the animal shelter of our Konya municipality, which is in fact the most modern facility of our country.”

He went on to say, “Judicial and administrative proceedings were initiated for those responsible for it immediately and they were arrested. The necessary measures were taken to prevent similar images from happening again.”

“WE WILL CERTAINLY BENEFIT FROM THEM BUTT WE’LL NEVER TREAT THEM BADLY”

Erdogan, who stated that animals, like all living and inanimate beings in our world, were a trust of Allah to people, noted the following:

“We will certainly benefit from them. But we will never persecute, torment, ill-treat. One day, our Prophet and his companions were passing by the body of a dog. The companions tried to cover their nose due to the smell. But the following statements of our Prophet are an example to us. The Messenger of Allah said, ‘Oh, how beautiful are his teeth?'”

“WE WILL BE A CLOSE FOLLOWER OF THE ISSUE”

This is how we see animals, we are the ummah of a religion, a faith, a prophet who looks at it this way. No one has the right to get up and persecute animals, no matter where they are. As a management that has implemented the most advanced legal regulations and practices related to the protection of animals, we cannot consent to any other behavior in the opposite direction. Since we will be a close follower of this issue, all my Central Decision Board members, my deputy friends, let no one doubt this.”
