Ministry of Culture and Tourism raises prices for museums and ruins again

The Ministry of culture and Tourism has been raising prices for museums and ruins for the past two years. The ministry has again raised the entrance fees for museums and ruins.
The Ministry of culture and Tourism which had already increased entrance fees for the museum and ruins in Turkey by 50 percent in October 2018 and 20 percent in July 2019, announced new price increases once again.
In the new arrangement announced by the Minister of Tourism, about museum cards it was also noted that visitors would now have to pay new fees with an additional increase of 30 percent, to enter museums and ruins that receive intense visitors such as Hagia Sophia, Perge, Ephesus.
The entrance fees of Hagia Sophia and Ephesus ruins, which were previously TL 72 (seventy two), were increased to TL 100 (one hundred) with a 38.9 percent raise. The increased entry fees are scheduled to take effect as of 1 March 2020.
Making the hikes without complying with the tender specifications of concerned places, caused great discomfort among the incoming travel agents, that announce prices to their foreign customers by making an annual cost plan.
