Ministry of Interior says vehicles will be given tickets and not towed away for wrong parking

Vehicles that do not comply with the Ministry of Interior circular parking ban will not be towed to the park if they do not affect the traffic order but they will be penalized. The Interior Ministry of Turkey has issued a general report on the parking ban as follows.

According to the circular signed by the Minister and sent to the governor’s office, police department and gendarmerie command of 81 provinces, vehicles that violate the parking prohibition rule will not be towed in cases that do not affect the traffic order and safety. Only a parking ticket will be issued for the vehicles in question.

According to the circular, parked vehicles can be towed in the following cases:

– 15 meters to the stops of municipal bus, taxi, dolmus, tram, etc.

– 5 meters from pedestrian pavement and crossings, school crossings, public institutions and institutions, hospitals, health institutions, garages, parks, residential places such as entrances and exits

– as the second row of properly parked vehicles, roundabouts, tunnel entrances, bridge entrances and over, 5 meters to fire hydrants

– Vehicles parked in reserved parking spaces for disabled people and vehicles that are in danger for traffic order and general safety and should be removed.
