Moody’s says no change expected in Turkey’s rating

It is reported that  Moody’s (International credit rating institution) has revealed that a change in Turkey’s rating was not in question.

Turkey’s rating stands at Ba1, at present and many sources expect that the country will be rewarded by another rating increase from concerned agencies.

On the other hand it was also revealed by Moody’s that it would hold a teleconference regarding Turkish economy on January 28.

The agency further stated that following topics would be discusssed during said teleconference;

  • Shifting closer to an investment grade sovereign rating
  • Can Turkey achieve sustainable growth and manage its external vulnerabilities?,
  • How Turkey’s previous crisis contributed to banks being more strongly positioned
    for weathering the recent global financial crises
  • How the corporate sector and its access to international capital is being impacted
    by Turkey’s strengthening profile

It was also mentioned by the agency that said event was expected to last about 30 minutes.
