More than 65 per cent of Brits prefer Spain for the warm winter

For Britons looking for a cheap place to vacation in the winter season due to the energy crisis and the and increased expenses, Turkey is not the preferred destination in the first place, although it is the cheapest due to the devaluation of the TL.

According to the report prepared by the UK travel agency “On The Beach”, the British prefer the Canary Islands of Spain in the first place in the winter tourist season 2022-2023. The report states that the prices in the Canary Islands are high, and Turkey is to benefit from this situation normally as a competing country.

Despite this, the British prefer to choose the Canary Islands of Spain with 40 percent in the first place among the warm countries to spend the cold winter. Madrid and the Balearics rank second and third followed by Turkey with 6.9 percent.

Travel Weekly, which has shared the report, says that more than 65 percent of Britons prefer Spain for the warm winter. Evaluating the research results, tour operators comment that because the prices are high in the islands this may work against the benefit of the islands causing to orient the demand towards Turkey and other countries.
