Muğla Governor Akbıyık: We Hosted 10 Million Tourists in 2023

Muğla Governor İdris Akbıyık has made statements regarding the tourism data for the year 2023 in the province, which includes popular holiday destinations such as Bodrum, Marmaris, and Fethiye.

Governor İdris Akbıyık stated that in 2023, Muğla welcomed a total of 10 million visitors through 2 airports and 9 sea border crossings, with 3.396 million being foreigners.

Highlighting the diversity of tourism in Muğla, Governor Akbıyık mentioned that the province is ranked first in Turkey in terms of tourism variety. He also mentioned ongoing excavation work in 28 ancient cities throughout the province, with support provided by the Governor’s Office to 24 of them.

Governor Akbıyık further noted the development of health tourism alongside sports tourism in Muğla.
