MUGLA hosts 1.5 million tourists in 7 months – British are top of the list

With the easing of the pandemic rules, the number of foreign tourists who came to Muğla in 7 months reached 1.5 million. While the number of tourists from Russia and Ukraine reached 670 thousand people in 2019, 5 thousand 743 tourists from Ukraine and 144 thousand 163 tourists from the Russian Federation were welcomed in the 7th month of this year.
The number of foreign tourists entering from the airports, including 802 thousand 766 people from Dalaman airport and 505 thousand 794 people from Milas-Bodrum Airport, totaled up to 1 million 308 thousand 560 people.
1.5 million visitors have come in 7 months
Brits took the first place among nationalities visiting MUGLA, from all countries with 685,513 tourists.
The British were followed by tourists from Russian Federation with 144 thousand 163 people, and Germans with 109 thousand 533 people. Poland followed with 90 thousand 115 people and the Netherlands with 52 thousand 486 people. Mugla had hosted 3 million 200 thousand tourists annually before the pandemic, and this year there was a big drop in tourists from Russia and Ukraine due to the Russian-Ukrainian war.
After the first case was seen in Turkey in March 2020, 415 thousand 857 foreign tourists came to Muğla in the summer season of 2020. In 2021, 1 million 83 thousand 589 people came, while in the 7-month period of 2022, there was an increase of 261 percent compared to the same period last year, and 1,5 million foreign tourist arrivals were experienced.
