Turkish Airlines (THY) has announced that additional rights will be granted to passengers on Tel Aviv flights due to the Aqsa Tempest operation launched by the military wing of Hamas against Israel. Passengers will be given the right to penalty-free refunds, and the ticket validity can be extended for free.

According to the announcement on THY’s official website, it was stated that additional rights were granted to passengers registered on all THY and AnadoluJet Tel Aviv flights between October 7 and 9, including today, due to the events affecting Tel Aviv flights.

Regarding the additional rights granted, without regard to fare rules, if changes are made by October 9, the following information was provided:

“Reservation and itinerary changes to THY flights up to November 30, 2023 (inclusive), provided that the destination remains in the same region and the requested change is in the same cabin class, will be free regardless of the availability in the same fare class. If the changes affect the passenger’s travel plans, changes will be free in the same fare class without regard to the availability in the same fare class on other flights in the same ticket.”

“PENALTY-FREE REFUNDS REGARDLESS OF FARE RULES”

The announcement stated that refunds for all passengers registered on THY or AnadoluJet flights will be penalty-free for tickets that have not been used at all, regardless of fare rules, as long as the process is completed by October 9. Partially used tickets will be refunded for the unused portions under the scope of involuntary refunds.

TICKET VALIDITY CAN BE EXTENDED FOR FREE

Furthermore, it was mentioned that the validity of tickets could be extended until November 30 without any fare difference or penalty. Detailed information about the announcement can be found on THY’s website.
