New Era in Land Registry and Cadastre Transactions: Mandatory from January 1

Hakan Gedikli, the Director-General of the Directorate of Land Registry and Cadastre, announced that starting from January 1, 2025, the 3D Digital Building Model will be mandatory for floor easement and condominium transactions. This regulation aims to accelerate digitalization in the real estate sector and make significant contributions to disaster management and reducing natural disaster risks.

A “3D” era is beginning in land registry and cadastre processes starting in the new year. In a written statement, Gedikli explained that the “3D City Model Production and Creation of 3D Cadastre Base Layers Project” will ensure buildings are recorded and monitored in a more secure and transparent manner in the digital environment.

“Mandatory Nationwide from January 1, 2025”

Gedikli stated, “In this context, starting from January 1, 2025, it will be mandatory nationwide to send the 3D Digital Building Model, along with the architectural project, to our Directorate in a secure electronic environment for floor easement and condominium transactions.” Additionally, information regarding ongoing work under the ‘Digital Building’ concept can be accessed through the official website, dijitalbina.tkgm.gov.tr.

Gedikli emphasized that the use of 3D Digital Building Models in land registry transactions in Turkey starting in 2025 will be considered a major innovation in the real estate sector and will significantly contribute to achieving the goal of digitalization.

What Will the New Regulation Bring?

Gedikli further stated, “This innovation will also make important contributions to reducing natural disaster risks and improving disaster management. I believe that with the transition process, all stakeholders in the sector will make the necessary preparations and fulfill the system requirements by the specified date.”
