New one-way traffic implementation started in Kuşadası receives support from public
The “one-way traffic” project prepared by Aydin Metropolitan Municipality and Kuşadası Municipality and implemented on 22 March in order to relieve traffic in the city center, was also welcomed by NGOs. On the 3rd day after the new application had started, it was observed that the new system had enabled a positive improvement in traffic flow.
According to officials in contact with the public, Kuşadası residents and small business owners expressed their positive support.
In fact, drivers also commented that the only solution for the packed traffic in the town was to introduce one-way flow for vehicles and this had been realized thanks to the co-operation between Kuşadası mayor and Aydın Metropolitan Mayor Ozlem CERCIOGLU.
The good part was the the project was implemented after a scientific study by the experts in this particular field. The aim was to solve the traffic problem that had been going on in Kusadasi for years. The teams from Aydin Metropolitan Municipality are considered to be very experienced and also Kuşadası Mayor knows his job very well.
According to taxi drivers in town the new system seems to function real well judging on the performance first few days. They also comment that it will not take citizens long to get used to the new system.
