New record: “USD/TRY exchange rate surpasses 34 threshold

The USD/TRY exchange rate, which has been experiencing a gradual increase throughout the week, has surpassed the 34 level, reaching a new all-time high.

The dollar, which started the day at 33.97 lira in the Istanbul free market, crossed the critical 34 threshold early in the morning. After reaching levels of 33.96 yesterday, USD/TRY was trading just below 34 at the start of the last trading day of the week.

The gradual rise, which continued throughout the week, persisted today, with the rate surpassing the 34 level. During the day, USD/TRY reached its highest level at 34.0018.

As of 11:10 AM, the USD/TRY was trading at 34.0010, up 0.3% from the previous close. At the same time, EUR/TRY was trading just above its previous close at 37.8540, and GBP/TRY was up 0.1% at 44.6230.
