New refugee flow from Afghanistan to Turkey causes vote of ruling party to decline

Turkey is now in danger of hosting hundreds of thousands (perhaps millions) of refugees from Afghanistan after the flow of Syrian refugees it had to endure some time ago.

So far, a budget of at least $ 5o billion (and probably much more) has been spent on Syrian refugees. Now it seems that the billions of dollars that should normally be spent on the welfare of the Turkish people could be spent on Afghan refugees this time.

Therefore, the people of Turkey are now seriously tired of this burden and the associated risks, and support for the government’s policies on this issue has turned negative. Of course, this situation is seen quite clearly in the results of the election polls. In these studies, it is easily observed that vote of the ruling party has substantially declined and experts comment that in case of an election today  the current ruling bloc would only have the minority vote.

It is also known that in a change of power that could take place in the first election, the vast majority of migrants who have arrived in the country so far will be sent back to their countries, after having provided the necessary humanitarian conditions.

In relation to these issues, KILICDAROGLU, the leader of the opposition bloc has recently shared a message on his Twitter account. In his message he noted following points:

* European leaders have begun to say, “We must deal with the problem of asylum seekers in Afghanistan with Turkey.”

*Why does the EU say “we should talk to Turkey” and not Iran? We’re not neighbors, why us? Answer that question, my dear people. Do you think Iran would say ‘yes’ to such an asylum deal?

* What does the power in the palace (meaning the President) do? He says he’ll talk to the Taliban. There are 2,940 km between us and Afghanistan, the asylum seekers are coming from Iran, Why Are you talking to the Taliban instead of Iran?.

* Once again, you will not be able to sign any agreement that will bring new asylum seekers, Erdogan!
