US advises its citizens not to travel to Turkey as it is among countries with highest risk

The U.S. Center for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and the U.S. State Department updated their travel warning to Turkey on Monday due to the increase in Covid-19 case numbers.

The CDC has added Turkey to the “high risk” group of countries, which is Level 4, where the “avoid all travel” advice is given. In parallel with this development, the Foreign Ministry warned its citizens not to travel to Turkey.

A “Level 4: Do not travel” warning was published on the Foreign Ministry’s website regarding travel advice to Turkey. “The risk has increased in some areas,” the ministry said in a statement.
