The UK has issued a new travel warning about Turkey and urged its citizens to stay away from the two cities. The British Foreign Office had also issued a travel warning to its citizens for Şırnak and Hakkari last year.

In a statement made by the British Foreign Office, citizens were urged to stay away from Hakkari and Sirnak during their trips to Turkey in 2023.

The British press wrote that many people in the country had already made plans for a summer vacation, and Turkey was one of the popular vacation centers. It was noted that millions of Britons had flocked to Istanbul and Cappadocia last year, while the government had just issued a warning asking not to travel to some regions.

The warning stated that Hakkari and Sirnak were close to the border of Syria and Iraq and might be dangerous due to possible terrorist attacks, and the British who would go here should take extra precautions. On the other hand, the British government reported that Turkey was a safe country for tourists in general.
