New York Times shows ANTIOCH among 52 places to see in the world in 2020

The New York Times has written that Antioch which is the meeting place of civilizations and religions has a history of thousands of years and the city also has a distinct importance for the Christians. In the article it is noted that St. Peter, one of the oldest churches of Christianity is located in Antioch which is referred as an important Center for the first Christians, led by Paul.

 

In said article the daily also says the city is sort of an open archaeological museum with its narrow streets, historic structure and white stone houses.

The article emphasizes that the Museum Hotel which was built in an area hosting 30 thousand works from Hellenistic period to Islam, including the world’s largest mosaic, is among the places to be seen.

The New York Times has placed ANTIOCH thirty fourth in the list covering 52 places to see in 2020.

Some of the other places in said list are as follows:  Washington, USA, British Virgin Islands, Rurrenabaque Bolivia, Greenland, Kimberley Region Australia, Paso Robles California, Sicily, Salzburg, Tokyo, Caesarea Israel etc.

On the other hand we know that ANTIOCH has hosted several civilizations and thus adopted many unique specialties from them all, such as its very rich cuisine – and more.
