Number of foreign visitors t to Turkey increases by 128.28 percent in first 7 months
The number of foreign visitors to Turkey in the 7-month period of the year increased by 128.28 percent compared to the same period last year and reached 23 million 30 thousand 209.
The Ministry of Culture and Tourism shared the data on the number of visitors to Turkey during January-July 2022. Accordingly, the number of foreign visitors increased by 128.28 percent compared to the 7-month period of the previous year and amounted to 23 million 30 thousand 209.
In the list ranking countries according to this criteria Germany took the top place by sending and 2 million 992 551 thousand people corresponding to an increase of 137,36 per cent compared to same period last year, followed by Russia with 2 million 197 thousand 331 people and 41.36 percent increase. UK came third with 1,810 248 people and 2036 percent increase compared to same period last year.
According to the data published by TURKSTAT, a total of 26 million 195 thousand 747 visitors were hosted along with 3 million 165 thousand 538 foreign resident citizens who came to Turkey.
52.84 percent increase in July
In July this year, Turkey hosted 6 million 665 thousand 129 foreign visitors with an increase of 52.84 percent compared to the same month last year.
In July, Germany was the first with 962 thousand 3 people, the Russian Federation was the second with 741 thousand 419 people, and the UK was the third with 545 thousand 973 people in the ranking of the countries sending the most visitors. The UK was followed by the Netherlands and Bulgaria.
