Objection from expert to new town project on protected land in Muğla

In the lawsuit filed against the town of 16 thousand people that Ali Ağaoğlu and Besim Tibuk (entrepreneurs) plan to establish in the Milas district of Muğla, the expert appointed by the court has made decision objecting the project, noting that the area would be destroyed.

The “Tourism City” project, consisting of thousands of residential buildings, hotels and golf courses, is planned to be established on the border of the protected “Bargilya Tuzla Wetland” in partnership with the Net Holding owned by TIBUK and Ağaoğlu.

The Mugla Environmental and Ecological Policy Association and the Turkish Association of Chambers of Engineers and Architects (TMMOB), The Mugla Provincial Coordination Board had filed a lawsuit for the cancellation of the decision.

According to Mediascope, the expert report prepared in the lawsuit filed for the cancellation of the project noting “the project would irreversibly disrupt the ecological balance”.
