OECD Report: Turkey leads by a wide margin in food inflation

According to the Organization for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD) report on food inflation, Turkey is at the top with 72 percent.
The OECD’s report provides information on the inflation rates that changed within one year for different countries. According to the information relayed from the report by ANKA, inflation decreased in September and October of 2023 in 28 OECD member countries.
Accordingly, food inflation continued to slow down rapidly, decreasing from 8.1 percent in September to 7.4 percent in October.
While food inflation decreased in 32 OECD countries, it remains above 10 percent in Turkey, Iceland, Colombia, and the United Kingdom.
In Turkey, food inflation, which was 61.4 percent last year, has increased to 72 percent this year. With this rate, Turkey occupies the first place on the list.
