Istanbul Municipality’s offer for 2,125 new taxis to Istanbul accepted at UKOME

At the Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality (IBB) Transportation Coordination Center (UKOME) meeting, it was accepted to convert the surplus 1803 minibuses and 322 shared taxis (dolmuş) working in Istanbul, into taxis.

UKOME Meeting was held under the chairmanship of IBB Secretary General Can Akın Çağlar, at Yenikapı Performance and Art Center.

At the meeting where various agenda items were discussed, the proposal to convert the surplus 1803 minibuses and 322 shared taxis (dolmus) working in Istanbul into taxis was discussed. In the vote at the meeting, the proposal to convert 1803 minibuses and 322 taxis into taxis was approved.

MAYOR OF ISTANBUL ANNOUNCES GOOD NEWS

Announcing the news, IMM President Ekrem Imamoğlu wrote on Twitter: “2 bin 125 new taxis to Istanbul. The step we have taken to solve Istanbul’s taxi problem has yielded results. The conversion of surplus 1803 minibuses and 322 dolmus into taxis was approved in UKOME. The struggle will continue for the number of taxis needed by Istanbul. Good luck with the new taxis.”
