Wednesday breaks record of Stranger Things on Netflix

Netflix’s new Tim Burton-signed series ‘Wednesday’ reached 341.23 million hours of viewing in the first week, surpassing the fourth season of Stranger Things, which holds the record with 335 million hours of viewing.

Tim Burton’s new series focusing on Wednesday, the strange daughter of the Addams Family, which was previously adapted to the cinema as an animation, broke a viewing record in its first week.

The series, which met the audience on November 23 with its first season consisting of eight episodes, ranked first on the list of the most watched series globally with 341 million hours of viewing.

Before Wednesday took the record, the most watched English-language series on Netflix in its first week was the fourth season of ‘Stranger Things’ with 335 million views.

In addition to being the most watched series on the global list, Wednesday was also the most watched series of the week in 83 of the 93 countries where Netflix operates.
