Orhan TURAN, President of TUSIAD says Turkey is growing by getting poorer

Orhan Turan, President of TUSIAD has said, “”Growth alone is not enough for development, unfortunately, you are getting poorer and growing up. We should not pursue an approach that contradicts the science of economics.”

Orhan Turan, the President of the Turkish Industrialists’ and Businessmen’s Association (TUSIAD), spoke at the meeting of the association’s High Advisory Board.

TURAN noted following;

“The competitive exchange rate and current account surplus policies are not compatible with the present day and do not give the desired result. While the whole world is increasing interest rates in the fight against inflation, we are pursuing the opposite policy. The increased level of risk is unsustainable, we must return to traditional policies.

Our incomes are melting with implemented economic policies.”“Growth alone is not enough for development, and even, unfortunately, we are getting poorer as we grow” Turan said.
