Another hike in diesel prices
Tonight, another raise is coming to diesel prices that were raised last night, only. The price of a liter diesel will reach 30 TL in some provinces. Said price was raised by 1 lira 27 kurus last night.
According to industry sources, starting from midnight tonight, the price of a liter of diesel will be increased by 0.80 TL. The night before, there was a 97 kurus discount on the price of a liter of gasoline.
With tonight’s hike, the price per liter of the diesel will increase approximately to 29.88 TL in Istanbul, 29.99 TL in Ankara and 30 TL in Izmir.
On the other hand the price of a liter of gasoline is approximately sold for 27.44 TL in Istanbul, 27.55 TL in Ankara, and 27.56 TL in Izmir.
A 315 PERCENT INCREASE IN DIESEL PRICE IN A YEAR
The price of a liter of gasoline in Istanbul was 7.72 TL a year ago and 12.29 TL at the beginning of the year. The rate of increase in gasoline was 255 percent annually and since the beginning of the year it has been 123 percent.
The price of a liter diesel in Istanbul was 7.20 TL a year ago and 11.43 TL at the beginning of the year. With tonight’s increase, the hike rate will be 315 percent annually and 161 percent since the beginning of the year.
Rising exchange rates as a result of the policies of the government and global developments as well as rising oil prices have been effective in the hikes.
