Özgür Özel, leader of Turkey’s main opposition party announces new rally plan

Özgür Özel, the leader of the Republican People’s Party (CHP), announced a new rally plan. Özel stated, “From now on, we will be in a different province every weekend and in a district of Istanbul every Wednesday.”

After the historic rally in Maltepe following the arrest of Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Ekrem İmamoğlu, millions of citizens gathered. Özel thanked all the citizens who participated in the rally and shared his new plan on social media.

Özel said the following: “Today, 2.2 million citizens flooded the Maltepe square. I thank all the citizens who filled the squares before the holiday, to stand for justice and to defend their will.

This is just the beginning. From now on, we will be in a different province every weekend and in a district of Istanbul every Wednesday.”

The people will not stay silent. They will say “Forget about my candidate, bring the ballot box!”
