US House Speaker Pelosi and provocations

PELOSI IN ARMENIA

The Speaker of the US House of Representatives, Nancy Pelosi, continues to play an active role in US foreign policy. Pelosi visited Taiwan last month, a visit that caused further tension between the U.S. and China. Taiwan, as is known, is important for China, and Pelosi had highlighted this sensitive issue between the United States and China and put a premium on the hardline policy practiced by US.

Pelosi visited the Armenian capital Yerevan last weekend, this time for a three-day visit, and declared Azerbaijan an aggressor country. She also made “provocative” statements at a press conference in the capital Yerevan together with the Speaker of the Armenian Parliament, Alen Simonyan.

Pelosi noted that the United States had always stood by Armenia. In addition, Pelosi reported that the US Legislature (Congress) had recognized the events of 1915 as “genocide” in 2019, and US President Biden had officially recognized that “genocide” was committed in his statement in 2021. Pelosi is clearly pursuing a policy of incitement. She insists on a polarizing, provocative path.

The policy method pursued by Pelosi is based on two elements. On the one hand, she supports President Biden’s hardline policy in the Middle East, the Aegean Sea, the Caucasus and the Far East. On the other hand she wants to influence , the Armenian lobby in the United States and Armenian votes in favor of the ruling Democratic Party in congressional midterm elections to be held in the United States on November 8 (2022). In other words Pelosi has assumed the role of a “hawk” in US foreign policy.

Undoubtedly, these movements negatively affect the general political mood in the world. The United States is increasingly following a path that places a premium on harshness and provocations.
