Pamukkale welcomed In the first 7 months of 2023, Pamukkale welcomed over 1 million 149 thousand visitors, both local and foreign, representing a 23% increase compared to the same period the previous year. This increase is attributed to its allure with the white travertines, the ancient city of Hierapolis, and the famous Cleopatra Pool, providing a unique experience for visitors worldwide.

The President of the Denizli Touristic Hoteliers and Operators Association (DENTUROD) noted the ongoing recovery process of Pamukkale, which experienced a decline in visitor numbers during the pandemic. He highlighted the site’s lively season, emphasizing that 1 million 149 thousand 765 tourists had visited Pamukkale in the first 7 months, with a substantial increase compared to the same period last year.

July saw 338 thousand 609 visitors, with expectations to exceed 400 thousand in August. There is optimism about approaching the record of 2 million 521 thousand visitors set in 2019. The target is to host 17-18 thousand visitors daily at Pamukkale, reflecting the satisfaction of tourism professionals and their hopes for sustained growth by year-end.

The entry fee to Pamukkale is currently 60 lira with the Museum Card, obtainable at the site’s entrance. The Museum Card grants access to numerous ancient sites and museums across Turkey. Previously, entry was free for citizens under 18 and over 65. However, this year, entry is free for young people aged 18-25 from July to November. The Ministry of Culture and Tourism maintains reasonable prices for the Museum Card to preserve cultural heritage and facilitate access for future generations, also available digitally for convenience.
