Turkish Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan and chief of Turkey’s largest media holding Aydın Dogan attended an opening ceremony to inaugurate Trump Towers Mall in Istanbul on Thursday.

During the opening ceremony, Erdogan and Dogan hailed Istanbul as an expanding center of business and finance before opening the new shopping center to the public. Dogan, chief of Dogan Media Holding, said he knows that Erdogan is closely monitoring all such projects in Istanbul and that his participation in the inauguration of the mall is a clear indication of this interest.

Erdogan told a crowd during the opening ceremony that Istanbul is rapidly becoming a commercial and financial center with its unprecedented historical and cultural richness. He added that Istanbul hotels are facing increasingly growing demands in the face of a burgeoning tourism industry.  The premier also said investment in hotels continues.

After his speech, Erdogan cut the red ribbon with Deputy Prime Minister Besir Atalay, Istanbul Governor Huseyin Avni Mutlu, Istanbul mayor Kadir Topbas, Sisli Mayor Mustafa Sarigul and Dogan.
