PM Erdoğan: Turkey will continue to grow in 2012 when EU is expected to post negative growth

ERDOGAN_TEKSpeaking at the parliamentary group of his Justice and Development Party (AKP), Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan made evaluations about economy yesterday.

Erdogan said that that the euro zone expected to post negative growth rates, whereas Turkey would also continue to grow this year without throwing caution to the winds.

“Some people are concerned about continuing with investments in such a critical period of time. They shouldn’t be worried, because there would be nothing but productiveness.”

Erdogan stated that Turkey has proven its position as a chance which is offered to Europe and countries in the region along with its geopolitical location, as well as economy.

“We have also broken a record of all times in automobile sales with 494,000 pieces. The number of tourists visiting Turkey has reached more than 31 million in 2011. This is a new record in this area. Our tourism revenues have also climbed to $23 billion.”
