ERDOGAN AND TURKEY

Addressing students for the new education period, President Tayyip Erdogan targeted some young people and described the youth he wanted. Speaking at the opening program of the academic year at Sancaktepe Arif Nihat Asya Anatolian High School, Erdogan addressed young people, “Do not let social media, the internet, television, game consoles trap you in a fake universe disconnected from reality.”

”We want to entrust our future to our people, to young people who are proud of their history, not those who look at their history with hatred“ Erdogan said, and he also gave a name to it: “The TEKNOFEST generation.”

Highlights from Erdogan’s statements are as follows:

“The aim of all these efforts is to raise successful, moral and virtuous young people who are equipped to develop our country, research, produce added value, and are successful. We do not want an idle youth with an empty mind and heart; we want a youth with knowledge, ideas and virtue. This is called the TEKNOFEST generation. The keystone of the bridge we have built in the past, we see it as a matter of survival for this generation to grow up in the most equipped way.

Turkey is no longer the old Turkey that sees its young people as a threat. Today you have a president, a government, a state that values its young people. We are a nation whose history is too great to be confined to the last century. Don’t listen to the rootless people who are trying to make you forget your thousands of years of history.

Listen to the experiences of your parents, grandparents, teachers. While taking advantage of the possibilities of the digital world, don’t let social media, the internet, television, game consoles trap you in a fake universe disconnected from reality. Time is your most precious capital. Do not lose sight of the fact that learning requires patience.
