QUEEN ELIZABETH DIES

It has been reported that world leaders due to attend the funeral for Elizabeth next week have been asked not to use private planes and official vehicles. According to official documents, the leaders will be taken together by bus to Westminster Abbey, where the funeral will be held.

On the other hand, President Erdogan, who announced that he would attend the Queen’s funeral, had not attended the climate summit in Scotland last year due to the “official vehicle restriction and lack of security”.

The Queen of England died at the age of 96. The world leaders who will attend Elizabeth’s funeral have been asked to come to London by commercial plane.

According to the Politico website, the British government has asked the leaders who will attend the state ceremony to be held for the Queen on September 19 not to use private planes, and they will also be prohibited from using helicopters in London. It was also stated that the leaders would not be able to use official vehicles belonging to their countries and would be taken by bus together to Westminster Abbey, where the funeral will be held.

In the official documents, it was noted that this step was for security purposes and it was said that “very comprehensive security measures would be taken throughout London and in the areas where the ceremonies would be held.” It was also reported that requests for bilateral meetings would also be rejected.

The official statement noted that there would be no special arrangements for the funeral for private jets at Heathrow Airport, and the leaders who insisted on traveling by private plane were advised to prefer another airport.

“CAN YOU IMAGINE BIDEN ON THE BUS?”

A foreign ambassador stationed in London said in a WhatsApp message, “Can you imagine US President Joe Biden on a bus?”, reacting to the situation.

Politico also reported that according to official documents, only the head of state and his wife from each country would be invited to the Queen’s funeral due to the space limit. In the message sent to foreign embassies, it was reported that guests could not be received except for the country’s leader or his representative.

The King 3. Charles will hold an event at Buckingham Palace for the leaders of the countries who will attend the funeral.
