The Presidential Cabinet convened in Beştepe under the chairmanship of President (and AKP leader) Recep Tayyip Erdoğan.

After the meeting, which started at 16:35, Erdogan made the following statements:

ABOUT THE VISIT TO QATAR

To date, we have continuously carried forward our cooperation with Qatar by signing a total of 84 memorandums covering political, military, commercial, economic and cultural issues.

Turkey’s investment offensive is continuing rapidly in every sense. We are closely monitoring the investments carried out by our own citizens and international investors all over our country.

THE NEW ECONOMIC MODEL

We will move our country forward with employment and growth. We will see a better way forward as the uncertainties in the global economy disappear.

We know well what we are doing, how we are going to do it. We ask our nation to trust us and be patient.

In the past, we tried to solve our problems with other people’s prescriptions, and this time we are writing our own story.

STATEMENT ABOUT MINIMUM WAGE

We are taking steps one by one to reduce the burden on our nation. We will do the same on the minimum wage.

STATEMENT ABOUT SUPPORT

Today I would like to share information about treasury interest support on artisan loans that we started during the epidemic period. By continuing the support in 2021, we have protected our merchants from the burden of rising interest rates. The treasury has assumed the interest burden of 5.2 billion Turkish liras of the 60 billion Turkish liras artisan loan used in 2021. It will reach TL 26 billion  in the year ahead of us. We will ensure that our tradesmen will continue their work without additional burden.

STATEMENT ABOUT UNDER-THE- PILLOW SAVINGS

I ask my citizens to invest foreign currency and gold in various financial instruments to bring them to the economy and production.
