Mayor of Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality answers question regarding presidential candidacy

Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Ekrem Imamoglu has responded to the question about his candidacy for presidency by saying “it is not on my agenda”.

Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Ekrem Imamoglu spoke to Reuters. Expressing that he sees the problems existing in the economy, inflation and the cost of living as a reflection of the government’s inability to manage the crisis, Imamoglu said the crisis could be overcome by elections, as his party had stated.

Imamoglu said the issue of whether he would consider becoming a presidential candidate in the general elections was not in his agenda and his task was to manage Istanbul in the best way. He added the National Alliance would decide who the candidate would be.
