President Erdogan: We cannot give up on Russia and Ukraine

When evaluating the Ukraine-Russia crisis, President Tayyip Erdogan expressed that they would not give up on either countries. The president noted that NATO should now determine its position.

Speaking to reporters on the plane on the return flight of his visit to Africa, Erdogan’s statement was as follows:

Russia and Ukraine, it is impossible for us to give up either. Our problem is, let’s take a step so that we can solve this without giving up on either. NATO should now determine its attitude with this video conference summit and do what it is going to do. Everyone is just talking, no one is doing anything (their jobs).

We will consult with our NATO allies on the current situation that threatens the security and stability of the Black Sea. Our wish is that our neighbor Russia and Ukraine from the Black Sea will return to the negotiation table as soon as possible. We will continue telephone diplomacy with Mr. Putin. I hope that we will get better results.
