President Erdogan will not attend Queen’s funeral

Foreign Minister Mevlut Cavusoglu will represent Turkey at the funeral ceremony of Queen Elizabeth II of the United Kingdom, which will be held on September 19.

According to Turkish media, President Recep Tayyip Erdogan will not attend the funeral ceremony of the 2nd Queen Elizabeth of England, who died on September 8 at the age of 96, to be held on Monday. On behalf of Turkey, Foreign Minister Mevlut Cavusoglu will attend the funeral.

On the other hand, it had been reported that the British government would apply strict rules at the queen’s funeral, the day before. Accordingly, while the heads of state and government who will attend the funeral are asked not to use private planes and helicopters, buses will be used instead of the official vehicle.
