President of Hoteliers Association says Antalya hotels have exceeded a 90% occupancy rate, on 30th August Victory Day

The President of the Mediterranean Touristic Hoteliers and Operators Association (AKTOB), Kaan Kavaloğlu, shared recent updates on hotel occupancy rates in Antalya for September. Kavaloğlu announced that Antalya hotels had exceeded a 90% occupancy rate, largely driven by the 30th August Victory Day, which created a long weekend and boosted the tourism sector.
He noted that the number of tourists visiting Antalya had surpassed 11 million in the first eight months of the year, with a year-end target of over 17 million. Kavaloğlu explained that especially families with children viewed the 30th August as the last opportunity for a vacation, leading to an increase in last-minute reservations. He projected that occupancy rates would remain above 90% until the end of September.
Kavaloğlu also mentioned that after September 15th, the demographics of visitors would shift towards white-collar workers, young people, and couples without children, who prefer a quieter vacation. He predicted that October would also be strong, with hotel occupancy rates exceeding 80%. During this period, there is a mid-term holiday in Germany, the Netherlands, and Belgium, with high demand from German tourists.
AUGUST WAS EXCELLENT AND SEPTEMBER AND OCTOBER ARE PROMISING
He highlighted that August was excellent and that September and October are also looking promising, with Germans potentially setting a new record by the end of the year. Due to the high demand, the season in Antalya has been extended until the end of November.
