Prices in Bodrum surpass Dubai and Paris! The cost for a 7-Night stay is shocking: 900,000 TL

Turkey is on the path to becoming the ‘most expensive country’ in tourism. While vacations are becoming a distant dream for local tourists, even foreigners are starting to seek alternative destinations. There is a hotel in Bodrum that charges a staggering 902,000 TL for a one-week stay. As the exorbitant hotel prices in Bodrum become a hot topic, Dubai’s most expensive 7-star hotel charges 290,000 TL for the same service, and Paris Disneyland charges 335,000 TL.

Hotel prices in Turkey have increased by more than 100% compared to last year. Today, if a family of four wants to stay in an all-inclusive hotel for 7 nights, the cost exceeds 100,000 TL. When transportation and shopping are added, the bill increases significantly. The opportunism and exorbitant prices in the sector are also threatening the year-end revenue target of 60 billion dollars.

1 Million TL Vacation for 7 Nights

According to a report in Türkiye Newspaper, high prices are particularly noticeable in destinations like Antalya, Muğla-Bodrum, and İzmir. While a typical family’s one-week vacation costs over 100,000 TL, the price for a 7-night stay in some super-luxury hotels can reach 1 million TL.

Dubai and Paris Are Cheaper

There is a significant gap when these hotels are compared to those in Dubai or Paris. For example, a 7-night bed-and-breakfast stay at the 7-star Burj Al Arab hotel in Dubai costs 290,000 TL, while the same type of accommodation at the Paris Disneyland Hotel costs 335,000 TL. However, some hotels in Bodrum charge 902,000 TL for the same type of stay.

“Prices Have Increased Exponentially Since 2021”

Foreign tourists are also complaining about the high hotel prices. Tourists who find Turkey expensive are turning to different countries. While hotel owners argue that the prices are reasonable, travel agencies explain: “Especially after 2021, prices have increased exponentially. The population ratio in Antalya and Bodrum was 15% locals and 85% foreigners. However, we are also starting to lose foreign tourists. Due to exorbitant prices, a tourism season that started well may end poorly. Just as we lost foreign property buyers, we are now losing tourists…”
