Published in Official Gazette: “Turkey’s state forests can also be allocated for tourism purposes”

The amendment to the Regulation on the Allocation of Public Real Estate for Tourism Investments was published in the Official Gazette. According to this, state forests can now be allocated for tourism purposes.

An amendment was made to the Regulation on the Allocation of Public Real Estate for Tourism Investments. With an addition to Article 30-A, titled “Allocation Authority and Other Procedures,” state forests are now included in the areas that the Ministry of Culture and Tourism can allocate for tourism purposes.

According to the change made to Article 16, if the entrepreneur fails to fulfill their obligations during the pre-permission period, except in cases of force majeure and reasons arising from the public, the prepaid pre-permission and afforestation and maintenance fees will not be refunded. In the previous version of the regulation, only the pre-permission fee was non-refundable.

An addition was made to Article 17, titled “Final Allocation,” stating that if the facility type is deemed suitable for conversion into a tourism complex, no additional capacity or equivalent rights will be granted. (Source: ekonomim.com)
