Published in the Official Gazette: Vehicle Owners Who Don’t Have Emission Tests Will Face a Fine of 14,310 TL

EXHAUST GAS EMISSION FINE

The Ministry of Environment, Urbanization, and Climate Change has announced the administrative fines that will apply in 2025. According to the new regulation published in the Official Gazette, vehicle owners who do not have an exhaust emission test will face a fine of 14,310 TL, while those who pollute the environment will be fined 6,923 TL.

The new regulation, published in the Official Gazette, came into effect with an increase in administrative fines based on the revaluation rate, in accordance with the Environmental Law and the Turkish Commercial Code.

A 43.93% Increase

With the decision published in the Official Gazette, fines for environmental violations under Article 20 of the Environmental Law No. 2872 have been increased by 43.93% for 2025.

The Highest Fine Will Rise to 114,584 TL

According to the law, the lowest fine will be 14,310 TL, and the highest fine will reach 114,584 TL.

14,310 TL Fine for Not Having an Exhaust Emission Test

The fine for not having an exhaust emission test, which was 9,943 TL in 2024, will increase to 14,310 TL in 2025.

6,923 TL Fine for Polluting the Environment

The fine for those who create environmental pollution in public spaces will rise from 4,810 TL in 2024 to 6,923 TL. Additionally, fines will be applied to sales points that provide plastic bags free of charge in violation of the relevant regulations or do not comply with the rules set by the Ministry.

For such violations, a fine of 114.55 TL will be imposed for each square meter outside of storage areas, and electronic sales platforms will face fines ranging from 20,771 TL to 207,747 TL.
