Putin: The war in Ukraine will last longer

As the world enters the 10 th month of war in Ukraine, , important statements have come from Russian leader Vladimir Putin. He said combats could last much longer also noting the risk of nuclear war was growing.

Speaking at a meeting with the Russian Human Rights Council in Moscow, Russian President Vladimir Putin said that 77 thousand people recruited as part of the mobilization took part in combat units, while the rest served in territorial defense formations.

Putin said, “150 thousand of our mobilized 300 thousand defenders of the fatherland are in the field of operations. Of these 150 thousand, only half, or about 77 thousand, are directly in combat units, the rest are on the second or third lines, mainly performing the functions of territorial defense troops or having additional training in the field of operations.”

Putin said that only Russia could guarantee the territorial integrity of Ukraine, and claimed that Poland wanted to take territory from the west of Ukraine.

NUCLEAR WEAPONS STATEMENT

Noting that the risk of nuclear war was increasing, Putin said that Russia would not recklessly make threats to use nuclear weapons.

The Russian President finally said, “We are not crazy, we know what nuclear weapons are. We have more advanced and modern nuclear weapons than any other country. But we are not going to go around the world swinging this weapon like a razor.”
