Rally in Istanbul: DISK says red line for minimum wage is 5 thousand 200 TL

DISK RALLY IN ISTANBUL

The DISK (Workers Confederation) held a rally in Eagle Square to protest the cost of living. “The red line of the working class about the minimum wage is at least 5 thousand 200 TL” said DISK Chairman Arzu Cerkezoglu, who spoke at the rally attended by thousands of people.

“The Confederation of Revolutionary Labor Unions of Turkey” (DISK) held a rally in Istanbul Kartal at 14:00 today to protest the cost of living caused by the economic policies pursued by the AKP government.

Thousands of citizens from all walks of society attended the rally. Age-related people in retirement, students, public workers, pensioners, health workers, numerous political parties and associations supported the rally by providing mass participation.

Thousands gathered for the rally. Before the march to the field, the workers chanted “We want justice in income” “Minimum wage 5200 net” and “We want justice in income”.

AKKAYA (popular music artist) concert started at the rally. Thousands of people greeted Akkaya with applause. The General Secretary of the DISK said that it was estimated that 20 thousand people participated.
