Consumer Price Index, March 2013
Monthly change in Consumer Price Index (CPI) was realised by 0.66%
A rise in general index was realised in CPI (2003=100 based) on the previous month by 0.66%, on December of the previous year by 2.63%, on same month of the previous year by 7.29%, on the twelve months moving averages basis by 8.08% in March 2013.
The highest monthly increase was 2.04% in food and non-alcoholic beverages
The indices rose for clothing and footwear 0.86%, for hotels, cafes and restaurants 0.62%, for health 0.48%, for recreation and culture 0.33%, for miscellaneous goods and services 0.29%, for housing 0.23%, for education 0.09%, for furnishings and household equipment 0.09%, for communication 0.02%, while the index for transportation 0.05% declined. The index for alcoholic beverages and tobacco remained same.
The highest annual increase was 16.31% in alcoholic beverages and tobacco
Housing (9.84%), hotels, cafes and restaurants (9.40%), food and non-alcoholic beverages (8.10%) were the other indices where high increases were realised.
The highest monthly increase was in TRC2 (Şanlıurfa, Diyarbakır) (1.34%)
The highest increases in CPI were recorded in TRC2 (Şanlıurfa, Diyarbakır) region (4.54%) compared with the December of the previous year, TRC2 (Şanlıurfa, Diyarbakır) region (8.80%) compared with the same month of the previous year and in TR10 (İstanbul) region (8.61%) on the twelve months moving averages basis.
In March 2013 within average prices of 437 items in the index, average prices of 59 items remained unchanged while average prices of 246 items increased and average prices of 132 items decreased.
