Road Collapse Cuts Off Access to Popular Tourist Destination Kuşadası

A major disruption hit the Söke-Kuşadası highway today after a road collapse forced the closure of the route heading toward the popular coastal town of Kuşadası. The incident took place in the Yaylaköy area, where a section of the road gave way, making it completely impassable.

Traffic Closed, Drivers Redirected

Following the collapse, police and highway maintenance crews quickly arrived on the scene. Warning signs were placed at key points, and the road was officially closed to traffic in the direction of Kuşadası.

Drivers hoping to reach the town are now being redirected through the Kirazlı area as an alternative route.

A Near Miss

Photos from the scene show just how close the area came to a major disaster. It’s clear from the damage that had vehicles been on that section of the road at the time, the consequences could have been far worse.

The incident also raises serious concerns about road construction quality in the region, sparking fresh debate over infrastructure maintenance.
