Russia has withdrawn from the Black Sea grain agreement, which delivered Ukrainian grain to the world markets. However, the United Nations, Turkey and Ukraine have created a movement plan that will allow 16 ships to move forward under the agreement today in order to continue implementing the agreement.

Speaking to the WORLD, Aleksei Erkhov, Russian Ambassador to Ankara pointed out that the developments had the potential to secure food and energy supply. Regarding the issue Ambassador Aleksei ERKHOV said, “Due to the attack on the Russian ships tasked with ensuring the security of the Grain Corridor, Russia can no longer guarantee the safety of civilian dry cargo ships participating in the Black Sea Initiative, and therefore had to suspend its implementation. The promises made have not been fulfilled,” adding that the provisions of the agreements on the corridor regarding Russia’s shipments had not been implemented.
