Russia to lift restrictions on Turkey after restoration of ties between two countries

RUSSIA-TURKEY-FRUIT-SANCTIONAfter Turkey and Russia decided to restore damaged ties between two countries due the downing of as Russian fighter jet plane which violated Turkish airspace last November, both countries seem to be happy with the mutual efforts to resume relations to continue to mutually benefit from each other.

Within this framework, Moscow is reported to have said it will lift all restrictions on Turkey imposed in the aftermath of the conflict based on the downing of the Russian plane. The news was pronounced by Mr. ÇAVUŞOĞLU, The Turkish FM in an interview with French daily Le Monde, published on June 4.

ÇAVUŞOĞLU said “Russia told us that they are going to lift all of them. We saw the first results in tourism. Russians have started to come back; they can come to Turkey freely without a visa” adding that review the progress of the peace overtures was to be reviewed by civil servants at a ministerial-level meeting

This is considered to be good news for Turkey in specific as Moscow has been imposing strict restrictions on items ranging from Turkish foods imports to construction firms, since the undesired incident.

On the other hand Russian Economic Development Minister Alexey Ulyukaev is reported to have said trade and investment relations between Turkey and Russia would be rebuilt, according to TASS agency.
