Russian tourism experts report that despite the cancellation of entertainment and other restrictions received by the Turkish government, Russians have not given up their tours to Turkey for the New Year holiday.

They say, “Concerned restrictions have not caused reservations to be rejected. The Russians have kept the reservations they have made and they even keep making new reservations. Especially Antalya, Istanbul and Turkey’s ski resorts are in demand. Coronavirus is the problem everywhere. Everyone knows and understands that restrictions apply everywhere, including resort areas in Russia.”

According to said experts, during the public holiday period which extends until January 10, Russians will especially be going to Antalya for a sunny, pool-like holiday and excellent food also including a fresh-air walk.”

85 percent of Russian tourists prefer 5-star hotels and about 70 percent of bookings cover the period between December 28 and January 7.

To recap, the decisions taken by Turkey regarding restrictions on New Year’s Eve celebrations have not had much of a negative impact on the preference of Russian tourists wishing to spend their holidays in this country.
