Smoother Ride to Paradise: Fethiye Completes Second Phase of Taşyaka–Ölüdeniz Road Project

Exciting news from Fethiye! The municipality has just completed the second phase of the Taşyaka–Ölüdeniz Road Project, in partnership with Muğla Metropolitan Municipality. This is a major step toward making one of the region’s most iconic routes both safer and more comfortable—especially with the summer season approaching.
This ambitious project, with an investment of 328 million TL, has brought significant improvements to the road infrastructure. They’ve laid down thousands of meters of hot asphalt, installed new drinking water and stormwater lines, and put up kilometers of guardrails. One cool feature that’s especially worth mentioning: they’ve included a “Motorcycle-Friendly Barrier” system, which is a thoughtful touch for rider safety.
Both Fethiye Mayor Alim Karaca and Muğla Metropolitan Mayor Ahmet Aras visited the site to review the work and confirmed that more improvements are on the way. Mayor Karaca also publicly thanked Mayor Aras and everyone involved for helping deliver such a meaningful upgrade for the region.
With these changes, traveling the beautiful road to Ölüdeniz will now be a smoother and much safer experience for everyone.
Fethiye keeps getting better!
